How to Use Saves with a Rented Steam Account

Save behavior depends on whether the game uses Steam Cloud.

Cloud save games

Steam syncs cloud saves automatically. Progress is usually kept when you rent the same account again.

Local save games

Back up the save folder locally before logging out, then restore it on the same account next time.
